SUMMARY:Beyond microservices: Leveraging containers for all modern applications
DESCRIPTION:For over 10 years\, developers have packaged software into containers due to their portability and scaling benefits. While popularized by microservices\, containers today have become the de facto way to deploy all applications. From traditional workloads\, to microservices\, data processing workloads\, machine learning training and now even GenAI models.\nIn this talk we will discuss popular application architecture patterns for containerized workloads deployed on AWS using Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) and AWS Fargate. \nWe will explore:\n– How developers can use Amazon ECS to support their large scale web and API workloads.\n– How queue / consumer workloads can be architected to reactively scale in containers to meet peaks in demands.\n– How to decouple application tiers with containerized workloads reacting to workload schedulers and message buses.
